Not every type of crib that was recalled, only produce the "Cabin", "Hudson" and "Pinehurst" cribs. These cribs were sold baby focused on establishments such as Babies R Us, USA Baby, Beautiful Beginnings, and Buy Buy Baby, just to name a few.
The stalls raised a strangulation hazard in part by the type of wood from which they were manufactured. Apparently, the type of wood used to build the cribs is genetically known for breaking easily. When the slats in the crib side rails broke, it became easy for children to fall head gaps and are trapped, potentially suffocating. All cribs were manufactured in China or Vietnam and imported into the United States by LaJobi Inc., a company based in New Jersey. LaJobi already has plans in place to redeem the error of the import and sale of defective cribs. The installation company provide free home to many of these cribs that a professional may be able to differentiate between those who are strong and those that are defective. They are also providing replacement side rails for those who are separated or dropped without the help of an adult.
Another danger posed by these defective cribs is rupture and sudden fall of the face rails. Due to the fragile wood used and the spring defective coils used, many of the cribs were defective side rails that either of the crib detached completely or suddenly fell. This may have led infants and young children alike fall in their cribs. Fall of the accident, even from a distance as close as the bed of the cradle to the floor, can be harmful for both long and short term when it comes to children. Not only are their brains still developing, but their skulls are also much softer and fragile that of adults. If a child to fall from her crib and ground or beaten on the head, which could lead to brain damage depending on the child's age and position in which they landed.
